Alpine Labs’ Pulse remote launches after successful Kickstarter

News

Alpine Labs has officially launched its Pulse wireless remote – price tag £99 – for shooting timelapse following a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.

Plugging into your DSLR or mirrorless camera’s USB port, the Pulse wireless trigger can be controlled via an app on your smartphone, which allows you to set parameters for timelapse, video, even stills.

Pulse is powered by a 100′ bluetooth low energy radio, advanced USB control software, and allows you to preview thumbnails on your phone after you take a photo, at a range of up to 100 feet.

Features include:

  • Control aperture, shutter, ISO
  • Take photos
  • Record video
  • Preview image thumbnails
  • Basic timelapse
  • Advanced timelapse
    (exposure/interval ramping)
  • Long Exposure
  • Self-Timer
  • Control multiple cameras
  • HDR bracketing
  • Auto-troubleshooting
  • Firmware upgradeable

Also built in is an Exposure Ramping feature that allows you to ramp your ISO and shutter speed so that you can capture day-to-night transitions, all the while keeping your camera in manual so that your photo’s EXIF-Data is written properly for LRTimelapse workflows.

Pulse also allows you to control up to three Pulse-equipped cameras at once – all from the same smartphone.

The Pulse app is free for both iPhone and Android devices.
