Hasselblad has announced a new ‘4116 collection’ of products to celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary, including a new 10x optical zoom for use with Motorola Moto Z camera phones.

Named after the company’s 1941 launch and its current year, the 4116 collection is headlined by a new lens which it promises with ‘revolutionise’ mobile phone photography.

The ‘Hasselblad True Zoom’ is a 10x optical zoom Moto Mod lens, which is compatible with Motorola Moto Z smartphones.

The Hasselblad True Zoom employs magnets to snap on to a Moto Z phone, and it features a physical shutter, Xenon flash and zoom. It also allows users to shoot raw images, which can be edited using Hasselblad’s Phocus image editing software.

Also included in the 4116 collection is a new range of camera bags developed in association with the camera accessories brand Sandqvist. The Sandqvist x Hasselblad bags are designed to be minimalist, yet function, and consist of three models.

The Sandqvist x Hasselblad range will be formally launched in September at Photokina 2016.

Hasselblad has also announced a technical partnership with Swiss camera manufacturer ALPA to help develop the latter’s technical camera range.

What’s more, Hasselblad promises more additions to the 4116 collection in the form of a special edition camera and “an innovative concept study” to be announced at Photokina.
