Apple has just announced the iPhone 7 camera we’ve all been waiting for, offering a dual camera setup with lenses optimised for bokeh and telephoto zoom.

What’s in the iPhone 7 camera?

The iPhone 7 Plus camera boasts two separate 12-megapixel cameras: one with a standard wide-angle lens and the other with a 56mm telephoto lens.

Apple said the iPhone 7 camera also employs new functionality, a ‘Portrait’ style, that aims to identify people in your images and apply depth of field. The company said that the iPhone 7’s dual camera-setup will keep subjects in sharp focus while blurring the background.

Other features of the iPhone 7 camera include improvements to image stabilisation, a better flash that promises 50% more light and compensation for flickering, as well as a new high-speed sensor.

The iPhone 7 camera also debuts a new lens, which boasts a wider f/1.8 aperture and a 6-element design. To zoom using the new telephoto lens, simply press the button at the bottom of your screen and swipe your finger all the way up to 10x digital zoom.

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are also now water and dust-resistant.
