Nikon has announced the AF-P Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 ED VR lens, priced $699.90 / £749.99 / € 899, which offers up to 4.5 stops of VR stabilisation.

The new Nikon lens boasts a revamped Vibration Reduction System which helps it achieve the 4.5 stops. Users can also choose from Normal or Sport VR modes depending on their subjects.

The new Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 also features an Electronic Diaphragm for what Nikon says are smoother exposure transitions while shooting video or using your camera’s burst mode when shooting stills.

An improved stepping motor promises quieter, faster autofocusing, Nikon says, and also helps make the new version of the Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lighter than its predecessor.

The AF-P Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 will let you focus from a distance of 3.94 feet and offers a reproduction ratio of 0.25x.

Its exterior design is resistant to dust and rain, while inside it features a 9-blade diaphragm.

Below is a short video filmed with the AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR.
