Phase One XF Seismograph mode demonstration

Review

When shooting with an ultra-high resolution camera, the slightest vibration can cause camera shake that will spoil an image, regardless of how sturdy your tripod is or whether you’re using mirror lock-up and a remote release.

Small vibrations from people’s footsteps, passing vehicles or a butterfly flapping its wings can cause just enough vibration to make your image soft.

To help photographers combat this, Phase One introduced a clever new seismograph feature in its XF Camera System that detects vibrations and waits until they have died down before tripping the shutter.

In this quick video, DPReview demonstrates how the Phase One XF Seismograph works in practice.
