Sony has announced its latest camera phone, the Xperia E5, which offers 13-megapixel resolution and a number of advanced controls.

The new Sony Xperia E5 features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.

The Sony Xperia E5 camera also boasts a new Auto Scene Recognition that Sony says analyses the subject and conditions to determine what you are trying to capture. The Sony camera phone then adjusts its settings accordingly.

What’s more, the Sony Xperia E5 camera gives you an additional option to turn your image into an HDR photo.

Other features include an improved interface to make it easier for photographers to swipe through modes, along with a new Share button to upload images to Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Inside the Sony Xperia E5 camera phone is 16GB of internal memory and an SD card slot for more storage, as well as a battery that Sony says lasts up to two days with one charge.

The Sony Xperia E5 camera also benefits from a 5in HD display, and the camera phone weighs just 147g with an 8.2mm form factor.

The Sony Xperia E5 is out now and comes in black, graphite and white.
